Goldbach Video Network: Usage Data 2023

For the seventh time, we are pleased to present the study on the usage data of our Video Networks. In the representative study conducted as an online survey together with Dentsu Aegis, 1420 people in German- and French-speaking Switzerland between the ages of 15 and 64 were surveyed. The results once again confirm the strengths of the Goldbach Video Network (GVN) as the most effective advertising channel with the highest Reach. Consequently, we have summarised the most important findings from the study:

- GVN also in 2023 with the highest Reach (96% monthly among 15- to 49-year-olds) in comparison with the competition (on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as well as across all age groups surveyed)
- The young Target group of 15- to 29-year-olds is also well catered for with the GVN (95% monthly Reach)
- As a combination or extension of a campaign, the GVN provides additional Reach (up to 73% more)
- The content in the GVN is still perceived as very credible, which benefits advertisers
The Goldbach Video Network with greater Reach than the competition
Ahead of YouTube, Netflix or Instagram – the GVN continues to reach more users than the competition with a Reach of 96% among the advertising-relevant Target group of 15- to 49-year-olds. It does not matter whether respondents were asked about their daily (55%), weekly (88%) or monthly usage (96%), the GVN performed best everywhere (Figure 1). This is followed by YouTube (monthly Reach: 82%) and the Ringier Digital Network (74%).
The same applies to usage by age group (Figure 2): In all age groups, the GVN achieves the highest user values compared to the competition. Extremely pleasing and interesting for advertisers: The GVN also ranks first in the young Target group of 15- to 29-year-olds with 95% monthly Reach, followed by YouTube (92%) and Netflix (80%). Social media platforms such as Instagram (67%), TikTok (42%) or Facebook (41%) have significantly lower Reach in the young Target group than the GVN.

You don’t just reach many, but also people with a wide range of interests
Thanks to our “Best of” environment Networks (BO), you not only reach a broad Target group, but also a very specific one, if you wish. For example, BO Food mainly reaches young women, while BO Games mainly reaches young men (Figure 3).

Fun fact: Somewhat surprisingly, the study revealed that BO Football reaches a particularly large number of environmentally conscious people.
Strengthen advertising impact with the GVN
As mentioned earlier, the Goldbach Video Network is already an advertising channel with a large Reach in itself. Furthermore, it is also very effective in combination with other Networks or as an extension of a campaign. Here you have the GVN with a Reach of 96%, there YouTube with 82%. A large proportion of 15- to 49-year-olds, namely 79%, can be reached via both the GVN and YouTube. If you combine the two channels in your campaign, YouTube only adds 3%, while the GVN adds a whole 17% to the YouTube Reach (Figure 4). Due to this large number of exclusive users of the GVN, it brings additional Reach when combined with practically every Network (Figure 5).

And the GVN also helps to increase Reach as a cross-media extension of campaigns. For example, if the GVN is combined with the Goldbach TV channels, the GVN brings an additional monthly Reach of 21% among 15- to 49-year-olds (Figure 6).

High credibility for your campaign
Compared to the largest social media platforms, the GVN is perceived as particularly credible. Advertisers can also benefit from this high level of credibility when they advertise in the GVN (Figure 7).
