Goldbach and DAHW present the 'Tropentag' on SPIEGEL Geschichte
Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe e.V. (DAHW) has been fighting neglected and poverty-related diseases in the tropics for years and will exclusively present the 'Tropentag' on SPIEGEL Geschichte on October 20, 2024. The pay TV channel is part of the portfolio of the technology-oriented marketer Goldbach. The collaboration was handled by the agency MMD Me-Sch Media Direct GmbH.
Unterföhring, October 17, 2024 - The marketer Goldbach is implementing a themed presentation for the internationally active non-governmental organization DAHW on the pay TV channel SPIEGEL Geschichte. On October 20, 2024, the theme day “Die Tropen (The Tropics)” will be broadcast on SPIEGEL Geschichte from 1:55 pm with twelve episodes. The programming revolves around the special feature of the equator, 40,000 kilometers long and part of 14 countries in South America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. In a journey lasting almost 12 hours, the series shows the light and dark sides of life along this paradisiacal belt.
The 'Tropentag' is presented by DAHW Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe. The independent aid organization was founded in Würzburg in 1957. DAHW works worldwide for and with people affected by neglected and poverty-related diseases and fights leprosy, tuberculosis and other marginalizing diseases in countries of the global South. With the presentation of the 'Tropentag' on SPIEGEL Geschichte, DAHW wants to draw attention to these diseases: «Many people in the Global North, for example, are not even aware that leprosy still exists,» says DAHW Director Patrick Georg. «The fact that there are still around 200,000 new infections worldwide every year, which are always accompanied by exclusion and stigmatization, is a situation that is unacceptable».
Steffen Bock, Unit Director TV at Goldbach Germany GmbH: «We are very pleased to have implemented a thematic cooperation between the agency MMD, the organization DAHW and our TV channel SPIEGEL Geschichte. With special theme days on our channels, we reach specific target groups on TV and, in this case, draw attention to an important health issue».
