GOLDBACH AUSTRIA MARKETS THE LINEAR TV CHANNEL CANAL+ FIRST

European content giant CANAL+ has landed in Austria in partnership with A1. Sales of advertising time for the CANAL+ FIRST linear TV channel in this country are handled by the experienced screen marketer Goldbach, which was also responsible for marketing the predecessor program A1now.

The station's unique concept for success includes a combination of entertainment formats at the international level and Austrian environments for predominantly young target groups. CANAL+ FIRST's additional feed to HD Austria alongside A1 Xplore TV has already increased its technical reach by 50%. A further increase is foreseeable when network operators throughout Austria follow suit in the near future.

CANAL+ will show numerous European series, documentaries and films, as well as international blockbusters and Austrian in-house productions, in parallel with its comprehensive streaming offering - supplemented by exclusive content highlights. "You occasionally hear that the age of linear television is over, but that's not true - quite the opposite: according to the latest moving image study by RTR Medien and Arbeitsgemeinschaft Teletest, linear television still dominates, with around three hours of daily use. In combination with our streaming offer, we cover the entire spectrum of consumer behavior in all age and gender groups," emphasizes Philipp Böchheimer, Managing Director of CANAL+ Austria GmbH.

Right at the start, domestic film and series fans can look forward to highlights such as "Vernon Subutex" (exclusively in Austria), "Countdown Copenhagen", "Fleabag" or "Roadkill". Domestic CANAL+ in-house productions such as the music magazine AUX or the young news format "Was geht?" will also be launched.

"The interesting target group of 25-35 year olds can now be reached with the new CANAL+ brand in an environment with even more entertainment. Especially in times like these, viewers crave relaxed entertainment to switch off.
