TV channel CANAL+ FIRST new in LIWEST offer

Since October 04, 2022, Upper Austria's largest cable network operator, LIWEST, has integrated the extensive programming of the TV channel CANAL+ FIRST. LIWEST thus offers more than 100,000 households new quality content with a focus on Austrian and European film and series highlights.

CANAL+ FIRST will be found in slot 20.

The cooperation means an important increase in reach for CANAL+ FIRST with more than 100,000 households in Upper Austria. LIWEST customers will now benefit from the program of the TV station, which was launched this year and has been specially compiled for the Austrian moving image market.

"On CANAL+ FIRST, you can watch the film and series highlights of our CANAL+ streaming offer in a linear fashion. LIWEST customers are thus getting a new channel with the highest-quality content in their program lineup. And for CANAL+, this means a significant increase in reach in western Austria," says CANAL+ Managing Director Philipp Böchheimer.

In October, the team responsible for the Austrian CANAL+ content has once again selected special highlights. These and many other highlights are now available to LIWEST customers.

October highlights include:

"CROSSFIRE" - The entire season is available from 5.10. in the CANAL+ App
& from 5.10. at 20:15 weekly on CANAL+ FIRST.


In a smart mix of flashbacks and flashforwards, the mini-series Crossfire reveals the traumatic past of police officer Jo, played by Keely Hawes (Bodyguard) and reveals personal secrets. With the help of hotel security Matteo, her police training and her strong maternal instincts, she does everything she can to subdue the perpetrators and save her family. Responsibility and blame come into play as the consequences of past decisions additionally catch up with her. This finely knit story of trauma and resilience, guilt and betrayal makes Crossfire a clever thriller with an emotional heart.

For the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, an all-star cast of British actor:s sat down to remake seven of his historical plays.
For the first time, the monarchs are brought to the screen in correct order and true to the text, starting with Ben Wishaw as Richard II, who is overthrown by Rory Kinnear's Henry, followed by Jeremy Irons as Henry IV and Tom Hiddleston as Henry V.
In the second season, The Hollow Crown: The Wars of The Roses focuses on the English Civil Wars. The Hollow Crown was nominated for 20 awards, 7 of which, including Best Leading Actor (Ben Wishaw, Richard II) and Best Supporting Actor (Simon Russell Beale, Henry IV, Part 2) at the BAFTAS, were won by the series.
