Paramount+ launch in Austria and streaming: combination with Pluto TV for attractive advertising opportunities in the premium environment. Ikea as first mover with comprehensive campaign in August.

Goldbach Austria, an Azerion Group company, is taking over the exclusive advertising marketing of Paramount+ in Austria alongside Paramount Advertising International. Since the launch of the new, ad-financed basic subscription at the beginning of June, this model has been available in the DACH region for the first time. It complements the existing standard and premium offer and is aimed at price-conscious streaming fans who want to enjoy high-quality content - from blockbuster films and Paramount+ Originals to popular TV brands such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon - in combination with advertising.

For advertisers, this opens up new access to a rapidly growing streaming audience that can be targeted in a premium context.

"We are delighted to expand the opportunities for advertisers in Austria to engage directly, comprehensively and effectively with fans of our legendary franchises, blockbuster films and Paramount+ series. With Goldbach Austria, we have a proven partner at our side whose in-depth knowledge and expertise in the local market will be invaluable in optimally positioning and marketing Paramount+," says Maciej Walczybok, Vice President Advertising Sales Northern, Eastern & Central Europe, Paramount.

Goldbach Austria is marketing the new Paramount+ offering in Austria as a single brand and under the title "Paramount Streaming" in combination with Pluto TV - Paramount's successful FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) offering. The result is a powerful advertising combination with classic and creative formats in a high-quality, brand-safe environment.

In addition to pre- and mid-roll spots, innovative special advertising formats such as sponsored billboards and pause ads are also available for booking. Spots are non-skippable and are placed exclusively within an interruption.

"We are very pleased to be able to market Paramount+ in Austria and thus expand our CTV portfolio with a strong and attractive brand," explains Alexander Leitner, Managing Director and CCO of Goldbach Austria. "The diverse program offers a clear variety of genres - from sci-fi and drama to comedy and family entertainment - and thus appeals to different target groups who consciously opt for premium content and engage intensively with the content. This strong connection creates ideal conditions for effective and relevant brand placements. With IKEA as first mover and Hutchison Drei, we have already gained prominent partners for the new offering."

IKEA as first mover on Paramount+

IKEA was the first advertising customer to take advantage of the new opportunities offered by Paramount+ in Austria and was present with an extensive first-mover campaign in August. A dynamic 20-second spot was played as a pre- and mid-roll throughout the month. In the first two weeks, IKEA also secured an exclusive sponsorship with first pre-roll and mid-roll, supplemented by a sponsored billboard and a creative break ad with the appropriate claim "Treat yourself to a break".

The campaign was thematically focused on the topic of sleep and was developed together with the agency otago and placed on Paramount+ via Goldbach Austria.

"At IKEA, we are always interested in new and innovative market developments in order to reach interesting target groups. Paramount+ is new in Austria - this is exactly the right moment for us to be the first brand to be present here. The platform offers direct access to a young, trend-conscious target group that fits perfectly with IKEA," says John Oakley, Country Marketing Manager at IKEA Austria.
