New Mediapulse Online Research: Media Brands and Networks Compared
With the Online Content Traffic Data, Mediapulse publishes the first data of the new media research study. Due to the change in methodology, the new results are no longer comparable with the previous data from NET-Metrix. What is apparent, however: The market conditions remain unchanged.
20 minutes and 20 minutes clearly in the lead
In June 2021, 20minutes reached an average of over 3.5 million visits per day, relegating second-place Blick to second place with 2.5 million visits, a difference of over one million visits.
With just under 960,000 visits per day, 20 minutes is clearly the most-used news medium in French-speaking Switzerland in the current study and ranks third in Switzerland as a whole.
In 7th place comes 20minuti/tio.ch, with 282,000 visits, the Italian-language news medium identified by Mediapulse as the most-used, which also belongs to the 20 minutes family.
Tamedia with strongest subscription news network in Switzerland
With an average of 528,300 visits per day, the Tages-Anzeiger is the subscription medium with the highest reach in Mediapulse's first Content Traffic Data publication.
Basler Zeitung, Berner Zeitung, 24 heures, and Tribune de Genève also achieve an average of more than 100 000 visits per day online. With an average of 134,900 daily visits, Tribune de Genève is number 1 among the designated subscription media in French-speaking Switzerland.
Among the business media, the digital offering of Finanz und Wirtschaft is the leader with an average of 30,100 visits daily.
Tamedia's Newsnet - including lematin.ch - reaches an average of 1.5 million visits per day, making it the biggest subscription news network in Switzerland.

With Mediapulse Online Data, Swiss online providers are given the opportunity to quantify the traffic and user base of their websites, apps and streams and to structure them according to content, technical and personal characteristics. This data is based on a uniform collection method and thus enables comparisons in the Swiss online market.
