Silent hour in the Christmas store
The drugstore chain Superdrug is introducing a silent hour in its British stores to make shopping more pleasant for neurodivergent people. This will run every Saturday for a month during the first hour after the store opens. It is aimed at customers for whom the noise level in stores during the Christmas period is stressful. During Quiet Hour, Superdrug will not play music or make announcements. Employees are also encouraged to talk quietly and create a calm atmosphere in the store. Some stores will also offer a quiet room where customers can gather and relax.
