How we can learn from AI - and it can learn from us
AI learns about the world like a toddler
Researchers at New York University have conducted an experiment to find out how infant language learning can be imitated with AI tools. They trained an AI system using headcam video recordings of a child from the age of six months until its second birthday. After the recordings were completed, the researchers trained a multimodal neural network using the collected data. After evaluation and comparison with the results of infants, the results suggest that infant word learning can be imitated using neural networks.
