We would like to keep you regularly informed about developments in the Austrian advertising market. Based on the monthly data published by Focus Media Research on gross advertising expenditure in the individual media categories, the following charts and the presentation available for download offer insights into the current status and changes in spending over the last two years, both in the overall market and in detail for each of the media categories surveyed (TV, online, outdoor advertising, print, radio and cinema). The focus is on the media marketed by Goldbach Austria: TV, online and outdoor advertising.

TOTAL ADVERTISING MARKET AUSTRIA

Here you will find an overview of the distribution of gross advertising expenditure in the entire Austrian advertising market for Q1 2024 vs. Q1 2023. The presentation also shows cumulative expenditure for the years 2021 to 2024, including percentage changes compared to the previous year.

TV advertising market

The slide shows a breakdown of gross advertising expenditure for TV from Q1 2022-2024, as well as a total for each year and an index of the changes.

The presentation also shows the breakdown of TV advertising expenditure between private and public broadcasters for Q1 2023 and Q1 2024 as well as the percentage changes in these two segments.

ONLINE ADVERTISING MARKET

The chart shows the percentage breakdown and development of online advertising expenditure according to the display, video, mobile and response categories surveyed by Focus for Q1 2023 and Q1 2024.

Another chart in the presentation shows the total spend on online advertising and the monthly distribution for the years 2022 to 2024. The cumulative annual figures and percentage changes compared to the previous year are also shown.

OUTDOOR ADVERTISING MARKET

Here you can see the cumulative breakdown of gross advertising expenditure between digital and analogue out-of-home advertising for Q1 2023 and Q1 2024.

An additional chart in the presentation shows the development of monthly and annual gross advertising expenditure for out-of-home advertising overall (including digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH)) for the years 2022 to 2024.
