Goldbach sells digital agency dreifive

The digital agency of Goldbach Group AG is taking over the management of dreifive. It will continue to be called dreifive, as an established brand.

dreifive, currently a Goldbach subsidiary with locations in Zurich, Vienna, Konstanz and Munich and more than 100 employees, is one of the most successful digital agencies in the German-speaking area.

The agency, which was called Goldbach Interactive, emerged in 2008 from the acquisition of Orange8, Suchtreffer AG and Onemotion in Germany and Switzerland. The Austrian branch of the agency was co-founded in 2011 by one of the two current managing directors. The agency was renamed dreifive in 2018. dreifive’s core business includes the areas of search engine marketing, display advertising, social media, creation and production, along with the development of bespoke campaign concepts.

As a digital agency and buyer of advertising inventory, dreifive has been able to operate independently of the Goldbach Group’s advertising sales business. In recent years, the agency has successfully developed and become an independent presence across the German-speaking area. The sale of dreifive was the next logical step in the Goldbach Group’s strategic focus on advertising marketing.

Mark Luck, Chief Strategy Officer at Goldbach, was able to follow dreifive’s progress towards independence as a member of the Board of Directors. Commenting on the sale, he says: 'It is a pleasure for me to hand over dreifive to the strong management team and I wish it much future success, driven by the enterprising dreifive spirit.'

Marcel Oppliger and Sascha Frommhund, managing directors of dreifive: 'We are grateful that the ownership is allowing us to take this path. The management buy-out of dreifive gives us the opportunity to continue to plan sustainably and to grow in the future as an agency in the German-speaking area. We are delighted to have a well-rehearsed team on board. with which we can continue to pursue our innovative, successful growth path in the German-speaking area with even greater agility.'

The dreifive management team consists of the two managing directors Marcel Oppliger and Sascha Frommhund, and nine long-standing heads of department.

The completion of the takeover is planned for the second quarter of 2024.
